Affluent Society and Job Availability

Affluence, the abundance of material goods, wealth, and property. When outsiders view the United States they are lead to think that we possess all of these. However, many citizens of the US just make enough to live. Sure there is a small percentage of the population has measurable wealth but, this does not make our society as affluent as often perceived. Along with the small bit of affluence comes the perception of life in the States being extremely grand and prosperous when it is not so for all who live there.

Job availability has always been a struggle for some however, some believe that the government should provide them jobs. Our government only has a measured amount of responsibility to us and our employment opportunities, this is only because they have a responsibility to their economy. For those that run out of opportunities because there are limited positions then there should be some give within the government however, jobs should never be just handed out.
